Men’s Jewelry: A Guide to Bracelets, Chains and Rings

Men's jewelry is no longer for the few. One good bracelet or a simple chain adds character to any outfit without overdoing it. Here is how to choose well.
What the bracelet is made of
- Stainless steel: durable, does not change color, and right for everyday wear. For example, the 8 mm steel gourmet chain bracelet.
- Leather: a warm, casual look. Take it off before the shower and the sea so the leather keeps its shape.
- Beads: stones like hematite or tiger eye add texture and color, as in the hematite and silver bracelet.
Width and size
A thin bracelet suits a slim wrist and sits well next to a watch, while a wide bracelet suits a broader wrist or a bracelet worn on its own. To find your size, measure your wrist just above the wrist bone and add about 1.5 to 2 cm for a chain bracelet. It should move a little, not squeeze.
Bracelet and watch
Wear the watch on one wrist and one or two bracelets on the other, or a single thin bracelet next to the watch. Keep the metal tone close to your watch.
A men's chain
A simple link chain that ends just below the collarbone works for most builds. With a button-up shirt, the chain can sit over or under it, depending on your style.
A men's ring
A wide, simple steel or silver band suits the index finger or the pinky. Measure it like any ring; we explain how in our ring size guide. For a wide band, go half a size to a full size up.
A gift for him
Some bracelets have plates suited for engraving, like the 5-piece steel bracelet for engraving. With a name, a date or an initial it becomes a personal gift.
